Having cut through some real rubbish again I bring you only 4 albums of note released this week. If you know of any more than should be getting my attention let me know!
The top image is for “Final Song” by various artists including Radiohead and Brian Eno. I really like the 3D paper imagery but I also really like the album’s concept. Asking the compilers the simple but poignant question “what song they would like to have played at your funeral?”. More said about it at Drowned In Sound.

Wavvves by Wavves…or is it Wavves by Wavvves? Who cares. Great album cover shot.

I really like the illustration on this and how it highlights his features but only really above his hair/beard line. Simple and very effective.

This black lips album reminds me of the Soulwax album from a few years back in so much as the straight lines aren’t as they first appear. Soulwax had their name but the Blick Lips have a face. If you can’t see it try tilting your screen or making the image itself really, really small. I also like the combination of hand drawn type and the effect on the type above it.
