A very cool homage to The Jackson 5’s – Dancing Machine. I dare you to try not to laugh at 2m10. The track itself is awesome, as is everything Armand Van Helden and A-Trak do, and the video fits the song perfectly. Some very tight dancing.

RichJust spotted this video in my RSS feed and it’s too cute not to share. Shot from the Sour fan base (from around the world) and using only webcams what the directors have orchestrated is truly wonderful.
More info including lame rip-off video...

Whilst not strictly a music video, I was impressed by Stephen Rose’s direction for this short video for Tom Scott’s new clothing range. It features Thurston Moore on the soundtrack to great effect and makes for a very haunting piece of media.

RichThis is a beautiful piece of animation. Essentially tracking the Beatles career (all 10 years shorter than you think eh?) the animation progresses, becoming increasingly more psychedelic as the music does so (although not quite chronologically correct). Hands down one of the best animated shorts I’ve ever seen. It almost makes me want to buy the game.
Thanks to Iwan from the Automatic for the heads up.

RichThis is Monogrenade’s first music video and they’ve set the bar pretty high for the rest of their careers! Directed by Christophe Collette the video is a whirling dreamlike stop motion. The post production effects are great. The result is truly haunting.
Check out Christophe Collette’s website for more of his work – it’s a flash site so I can’t link to anything more than the index page but it’s fairly easy to navigate.

RichI’m sure there’s an obvious theme running through the videos I post here (it’s always a simple concept really well done). The concept here is Jack White and Alison Mosshart (two of the most creative, sexiest rockers on the planet) shooting at each other. That’s it. Combined with the great track it makes very really compelling viewing. I’m really not sure what it says about there Mother/Child relationship though. I’ve never wanted to shoot mine.

RichThis is a less a music video and more a retro-futuristic sci-fi short sound-tracked by Emperor Machine. A machine travels from an alien dystopia in a top secret experiment beyond time and space through to an extremely simple existence. Waiting for the machine is a primitive life form who worship the new Emperor Machine. I’m loving this.
The diamond sequence in the beginning is worthy of a post of its own and was designed by Ralph Pinel. The video itself was written and directed by Cassiano Prado with the help of a whole load of talented people. Click here to see video and more whodonewhats on vimeo.

RichThis video cracks me up. Again it’s the simple idea well done principle that makes the video stand out. It’s a HD embed so feel free to watch in full screen!

RichOne insane music video this one – flashes of tron meets alice in wonderland meets flash gordon. It’s trippy as hell. The music is produced by Justice and the video’s done done by a whole load of cool people:

RichOne of the weirdest and most disturbing music videos I’ve ever seen involving dolls. It was directed by Model Robot and is part two of 10 parts each part soundtracked by a track from the album. Each video is based around an idea from Passion Pictures with a different director for each video. Cool eh?
