This is my favourite video so far. It’s really trippy and seems to use the clever visual illusions of Shigeo Fukuda combined with the daftness and general LSD based nature of the Beatles film Yellow Submarine. This effort has been illustrated and animated in Photoshop & Premiere Elements by illustrator Dax Norman. Dax’s website is full of weird and wonderful illustrations and his vimeo channel has a few more videos that are worth checking out. Dax’s original blog post about the video is here.

I haven’t really looked into many of the other videos but it’ll be interesting to see who triumphs when they finally pick a winner.

Beautiful images and typography referencing the lyrics of the Doors song. All the images were illustrated by Violenn Simon for her art school project at ENSAAMA School of Visual Communication, Paris 2008.
